The Big E

Josiah Day House Museum
The Josiah Day Museum is regarded as the oldest brick salt home in the country. Built in 1746, this century old house was originally owned by Josiah Day. It was passed down from one generation to the next until its last house resident died in 1902. By 1903, the house was purchased by the Ramapogue Historical Society who preserved the house in its original state.

Today, the Josiah Day House is one of the most popular historical sites of West Springfield. It features a museum filled with different artifacts and items owned by the Day family. The house is open to the public where special tours are given throughout the year.

Mittineague Park
Tucked within the southern part of West Springfield, the lush grounds of Mittineague Park provides a sweet diversion from the hustles and bustles of city life. This park offers a picturesque landscape which is perfect for those quiet walks or afternoon picnics. There are also marked trails for visitor who would want to go on a hiking or cycling trip.
